From Gauguin to Matisse – the Musée d'Art Moderne de Troyes is showing around 70 masterpieces by the greatest painters of French Modernism from the late 19th to the early 20th century in a museum in Germany for the first time. The works all come from the legendary art collection of the French textile magnate Pierre Lévy, on whose colossal donation of over 2000 works of art the foundation of the museum was based in 1982. Impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism: With sculptures and paintings by Auguste Rodin, Edgar Degas, Georges Braque, André Derain, Kees van Dongen and many other artists, this volume promises an artistic frenzy of color of very special virtuosity.

The works all come from Pierre Lévy's legendary art collection, the generous donation of which led to the founding of the museum in 1982.
