A COLLECTOR'S CHOICE
Picasso, Miró, Schlemmer, Kirchner & Co.
How do important private collections come about? What can be learned about art and artists through the synopsis of a collecting art lover? Which concepts shape the decisions of visual thinking? A large collection of classical modern works in an arrangement in the Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster provides information on the individuality of a choice that is only possible once in the world.
Over 90 works by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Oskar Schlemmer and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, but also many other artists, each stand alone as masterpieces in this ensemble, but enter into a dialogue determined by the personality of the collector. With the presentation of the pictures, the book reveals the character of the whole, makes contexts understandable, thinks about collecting itself, casually comes up with such extremely rare works as Picasso's aquatint series of Dora Maar - and between the book covers hides the wonderful dream of personal life with art.
