Frida Kahlo describes herself as the "daughter of the Mexican Revolution". At 18 she had a serious accident with painful consequences for the remaining 28 years of her life. She painted her around 70 self-portraits when she was unwell. She also led an exciting life. Surrounded by a macho society that allowed her partner Diego Rivera to publicly act out his immorality while she had to secretly stage their rendezvous.
