The Blue Rider / Munich Team / Artist Comic Biography
The Blue Rider did not ride long. Two exhibitions (1911 and 1912) and the publication of a yearbook, the famous almanac from 1912, were the result of the cross-border art initiative. Those involved were already going their own way again when the First World War broke out in 1914. With deadly force, the war destroyed once and for all the already vague hopes of a revival. In 1957, Gabriele Münter bequeathed her Blaue Reiter collection, which was hidden in Murnau, to the Lenbachhaus in Munich, causing a sensation. The applause began half a century late. / 32 pages
