Picasso designed the motif of the dove with flowers in 1957 as a foulard for the sixth world games for youth and students in Moscow. Picasso was committed to the international youth movement and designed a scarf for three of the World Festivals or World Youth Festivals, which was worn by the tens of thousands of participants as a unifying symbol.
